American Ambulance was a band that careened through the streets of the American music scene from about 2000 till April 2006, when they played their last gig (so far) at their regular stomping grounds, New York City's beloved Rodeo Bar.  We made four albums and toured and got on the radio a fair amount. AmAm made music that went bang and twang in equal measure. We tried to have open ears and an open musical map, drawing on Memphis soul, Nashville country, NYC punk, Delta blues, California singer-songwriterism and Carnaby Street pop. If you like well-crafted songs, big ringing guitars, rough but pretty Stonesy harmonies, and a rock n' roll band not pretending to be anything but a rock n' roll band, then you should take a ride in the Ambulance.
