Split between originals and covers, the EP's notes explain it best: "This record is pretty much what we sound like live — minimal overdubs and raw. It's got 3 originals and 3 covers, all staples of our live sets since one fateful day in 2001 when what it meant to be an American — and a New Yorker — got thrown into a real stark light. Since that time, there's been a lot of flag-waving and chest-thumping. Here's what it says on our flag: Freedom is non-negotiable, and no government can give it or take it away.
