AmAm's fourth album "Streets of NYC" came out in 2005, a big messy valentine to the rockinest city on earth. These tunes revolve around a bunch of characters whose paths all meet up in New York City in the late 1970s, their lives crashing into each other before diverging again. The band's sound expanded again here to embrace hard rock, tuneful punk and gospel soul.

Sitting in for this set are Will Rigby from Steve Earle & the Dukes and the legendary dB’s; former Hangdogs steel-slinger Automatic Slim; Levon Helm Band keyboard player extraordinaire Brian Mitchell; the Brooklyn Juvenile Detention Choir; and the honorary “Fifth Ambulance Driver,” Blooze-Bustin’ Genre Bender Hugh Pool (Mulebone). The great NYC singer/songwriter Erica Smith called this album “Just Pure Glory.” And she sings beautiful harmonies on the damn thing to boot!

All in all, the album feels like the time and place it evokes, from the sidewalks in front of Max's Kansas City and the wilds of Avenue B to the suburban basements and beaches across those crumbling bridges and tunnels. In the spirit of those crazy days, Pete, Scotty, Rob and Joe drove the Ambulance as far and as fast as they could -- come on and hitch a ride!
